Unnikrishnan, Jackson shine

KOCHI: C. Unnikrishnan’s fine all-round performance (three for 30 and 57 not out) and K.J. Jackson’s 81 (100b, 7x4, 4x6) helped Octopals (Thrissur) defeat Scorpions (Tripunithura) by five wickets and enter the first phase pre-quarterfinals of the 57th Cordiant Pooja all-India cricket tournament here on Saturday.

The scores: Scorpions CC (Tripunithura) 181 in 43.2 overs lost to Octopals (Thrissur) 184 for five in 40.2 overs (K.J. Jackson 81, C. Unnikrishnan 57 n.o.). — Principal Correspondent
