NEW DELHI: Two teenaged cousins were fatally knocked down by a local train at Pandav Nagar here on Sunday.

Thirteen-year-old Priyam Chaudhry and 17-year-old Ketan Chaudhry were on their way to a playground near Akshardham Temple to play cricket when tragedy struck. They were walking along the railway track and apparently did not notice the train coming from behind. Both were hit by the speeding train.

According to the police, the accident took place near their house in Ganesh Nagar around 10-30 in the morning. The two were noticed lying near the railway track by the family members. They were rushed to nearby Walia Nursing Home where they were declared brought dead.

“The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and will be handed over to the families on Monday morning,” said a police officer. The victims’ fathers Madan Chaudhry and Harish Chaudhary are real brothers and run small-time business.
