Woman ends life

Bangalore: Exactly a week after her marriage, Jeevitha (21) committed suicide by hanging herself at her husband’s house in Kuvempunagar, off Jalahalli, on Monday night.

The police said that despite parental opposition, Jeevitha married Kavi Arasan at a temple in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday last. After they returned to the city, their parents reportedly arranged a reception here which was reportedly marred by a spat between the two families, following which Jeevitha returned to her father’s house.

Arasan brought her to his house on Monday evening, but Jeevitha committed suicide by hanging herself with a dupatta from a ceiling fan.
