JK Tyre Prosports TSD rally from Nov. 3

Bangalore: The JK Tyre Prosports TSD rally will commence at Bangalore on November 3 and will conclude at Chikmagalur on November 4.

The rally will cover a distance of 534 kms over two days split into two legs of 364 and 170 kms each. At a press conference to announce the rally details here on Wednesday evening, Sujith Kumar, Director, Prosports, said: “We expect around 30 entries and already we have received 22 entries. We will have two sections, one for the professionals and one for the novices and we also plan to have a class for ladies.

“We will have some top names like Rohit Urs, Girija Shankar Joshi, T.K. Vishwanath, Sanjay Agarwal and Shreesta Patil in the professional category.” The rally will commence at the Ambedkar Stadium at 7.30 a.m. on November 3 and the first leg will wind its way through Kengeri Satellite Town, Mysore Road, Maddur, Mandya, Mysore, Chamundi Hills, K.R. Nagar and end at Hassan.

The second and final leg will commence at Hassan on Sunday (November 4) and after passing through Kadur, will conclude at the ‘Vasanthcool Estate’ in Chikmagalur.

“The total prize money is Rs. 1.25 lakh and the winners of the professional and novice segments will get Rs. 20000 and Rs. 10000 respectively,” said Sujith, who was the National champion co-driver in 2004.

JK Tyres is the main sponsor while the Chirag Group and Orange County Resorts will also contribute as support sponsors.
