CITU demands hike in pension for workers

CHENNAI: Members of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions staged a demonstration here on Wednesday, demanding the monthly pension to construction workers and employees of other segments of informal sector be increased to Rs.1,000.

The Government should ensure adequate flow of funds to the welfare board for manual workers for meeting administrative expenditure and implementation of welfare schemes.
