“Ignore objections to Sethu project”

CHENNAI: Objections expressed by “fundamentalist religious groups and divisive forces” to the Sethusamudram project should be ignored, the Doctors’ Association for Social Equality has said.

In said in a petition to the Committee of Eminent Persons on the project, the association argued that if the project was stopped midway, it would pave the way for vested interests opposing infrastructure projects, “in the name of religion,” in future. — Special Correspondent
