Madras bows out

VIJAYAWADA: Pune’s Bharati Vidyapeeth University defeated University of Madras 15-10, while Jalgaon’s North Maharashtra University outplayed Chennai’s Tamil Nadu Physical Education & Sports University 13-9 in the South West Zone inter-university handball (men) tournament’s knockout fixtures held at ANU campus at Guntur on Thursday.

AP archers excel

Andhra Pradesh archers won the team championship defeating Jharkhand (225/240) in the final of the National sub-junior archery championship, which concluded at Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) on October 30, according to team manager Ch. Satyanarayana. Vijayawada’s Ch Jignash won the individual Olympic round by hauling 110 out of 120 points. He also won two gold medals (60m and 30m), silver (50m) and a bronze (70m).

TT selections
