A nip in the air: Yes, winter is here

WINTER IS HERE: The morning scene around the ancient Sheesh Gumbad at Delhi’s Lodhi Garden on November 1.

NEW DELHI: The oppressive mugginess of the past few months is fast becoming a distant memory in the Capital now with the temperature and the humidity beginning their seasonal plummet.

According to the weatherman, the city registered a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 31 degrees on Thursday.

And just like every year, the faint haze that marks winter in this part of the world has started to raise its vaporous head yet again.

The descent of humidity to a lowly 25 per cent along with the fall in temperature makes it official: the time to brace oneself up against winter is here once more.
