Shreyas hits 116

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shreyas Gopal scored a century (116) to enable Karnataka to post a respectable first innings total against Andhra in the South Zone under-15 cricket tournament here on Saturday.

Apart from Shreyas, K.V. Siddharth (62) and Adarsh Lokesh (46) chipped in with useful knocks as Karnataka was dismissed for 275 in 105 overs. Subba Reddy, Vinod Kumar and Siva K. Rao picked up two wickets each for Andhra

Half centuries by V.G.S. Raju (66), V. Aparijith (62), V.G.S. Raju (66) and Ashik Mehra (58) put Tamil Nadu in a position of strength against Goa. At stumps on the first day, Tamil Nadu was 249 for six.

The scores: Karnataka 275 in 104.5 overs (Shreyas Gopal 116, K.V. Siddharth 62, Adarsh Lokesh 46) v Andhra 0 for one in 1.1 overs

Hyderabad 260 in 87 overs (Yathin Reddy 50, Vinay Rao 35, V.S. Aditya three for 46, Abin Babu three for 60) v Kerala four for no loss in 4 overs

Tamil Nadu 249 for six in 92 overs (V.G.S. Raju 66, V. Aparijith 62, Ashik Mehra 58, Darshan Misal four for 48) v Goa.
