Passengers stranded at airport

CHENNAI: A group of passengers, who had booked their tickets in a private airline, were stranded at the Kamarajar Domestic terminal on Thursday.

Airport sources said the passengers of the New Delhi-bound GoAir were denied entry by the airlines staff on the ground that they had arrived late for the flight, which was scheduled to depart at 10 a.m.

The passengers said they were stuck in the rush-hour traffic and hence not able to reach the airport on time. Later a portion of the fare was refunded to the stranded passengers. According to the check-in regulations posted on GoAir’s website, the airline closes its check-in counter 40 minutes prior to the departure of a flight.
