Congress nominee killed

GUWAHATI: Suspected militants of Black Widow — the anti-talks faction of the militant outfit Dima Halam Daogah — on Saturday gunned down a candidate of the ruling Congress for the coming elections to the North Cachar Hills Autonomous District Council, two of his Personal Security Officers and a civilian driver in Assam.

Darbitham Hmar, the Congress candidate, was travelling in a car near Redzol, about 16 km off Haflong, when the incident took place around 1.30 p.m.
