CM flayed for failing to set up nodal agency

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Opposition parties criticised Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for not keeping his promise on the constitution of a nodal agency for overseeing the implementation of SC and tribal sub-plan.

Participating in a meeting convened here on Sunday, they demanded that the Government should take steps to concede the demand before November 15 when the Dalit and tribal organisations had decided to take out a ‘Chalo Assembly rally’. Representatives of TDP, TRS, BJP and the Left parties decided to raise the issue in the winter session of the Legislative Assembly commencing on Monday and mount pressure on the Government.

TDLP deputy leader N. Janardhan Reddy criticised the Government for diverting the allocations made to SCs/STs that adversely affected the welfare activities.

CPI (M) floor leader in Assembly, N. Narsimhaiah charged the Government with “deceiving” Dalits by not spending funds allocated to them effectively.
