CPI hails land struggle

Madanapalle: The CPI State Secretary Narayana said that Chittoor district stands first in land issues. Speaking at the 19th district conference here he said that in Tirupati, Kalahasti, Madanapalle, Chittoor, Kuppam and Palamaner, the land movement has been successful. About 10,000 acres were distributed to the poor. The backward area of Thamballapalle constituency has to be uplifted. The Akumanigutta project is the result of their movement he said. District secretary Harinath Reddy said, once Madanapalle was a fort to communists, but later on communism faded away till in 1995 the AISF was installed and once again.
