Farhat, Razzaq reiterate ICL commitments

Karachi: Pakistan Test players Imran Farhat and Abdul Razzaq have reiterated their commitment to play in the Indian Cricket League and announced they would leave for India on November 17 to join the ICL set-up.

Farhat and Razzaq signed for the ICL in August along with former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and record-breaking batsman, Mohammad Yousuf.

But while Inzamam has already reached India, Yousuf pulled out of his contract last month to play against South Africa after reaching an agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Farhat said some board officials had spoken to him but said he wanted to play both for the ICL and Pakistan.

“They told me to come back and play for Pakistan but their condition is that I must cancel my contract with ICL which I don’t consider right as I have a commitment with them,” Farhat said on Tuesday.

Razzaq, meanwhile, said no one from the board had spoken directly to him as yet but the feelers were there that he might be considered for national selection again if he dropped the ICL contract. — PTI
