Excels in athletics

Kakinada: Students of Akshara school here have excelled in the CBSE cluster 7 inter school athletics championships held at Tirupati, according to L V Rama Devi, school principal.

She said here on Friday that P S Devi had bagged the gold medal in long jump while K Amulya got the silver medal in Javeline throw and bronze medal in discus throw. PS Devi, Lakshmi Prasanna, Carlin Monica Moore and Gayathri Devi bagged the silver medals in 4x 100 metres running race.

P S Devi has qualified for participating in the national level CBSE athletics 2007-08 in long jump girls’ under- 16 category to be held in Kerala. — Correspondent
