Arogyasri scheme in Chittoor from December 5

Chittoor: Medical Education and Health Insurance Minister Galla Aruna Kumari said that Rajiv Arogyasri would be implemented in the district from December 5.

She was participating at an awareness programme on Rajiv Arogyasri scheme here on Saturday.

Participating as chief guest she told that the scheme was being implemented in Mahabubnagar Anantapur and Srikakulam districts.

In the second phase, the scheme would be extended to five districts including Chittoor.

So far 6,795 persons were operated and extended medical aid costing Rs. 34.77crores in the three districts.

She urged the officials to strive to make the scheme successful.

An amount of Rs.118 crore had been paid to the insurance companies at the rate of Rs. 218 each for 49 lakh persons in five districts towards extending medical aid to them under this scheme. In addition to this Arogya Mitras would be appointed at the rate of one in each of 100 hospitals in the district in order to enlighten the people about the scheme and to identify the people requiring medical assistance.
