With the ‘thithi’ that prevailed at dawn holding good for the day, it is only apt that ‘Nagula Chavithi’ is celebrated on Wednesday, November 14, and not on November 13, according to Yaddanapudi Ayyannapantulu of Sri Mahakameswari Peetham in the city. He suggested to the Government to declare a holiday only on Wednesday and not Tuesday. ‘Nagula Chavithi’ would be followed by ‘Nagapanchami’ on Thursday and ‘Nagashashti’ on Friday, which were also auspicious, he said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
