NEW DELHI: “Techmart India 2007,” the 15th International Technology Fair, will coincide with this year’s India International Trade Fair starting at Pragati Maidan here on Wednesday. The fair is being organised by the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (NSIC), under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.

“This event will showcase latest technology development in the Indian micro, small and medium enterprises sector . It will assist the MSME sector in marketing their products and services and also help large companies and buyers in identifying companies that can become their ancillaries, partners in joint ventures and sub-contracting,” said NSIC Chairman and Managing Director H.P. Kumar at a press conference on Tuesday.

More than 200 MSME units will be displaying their technologies and products during the exhibition.

This year a new dimension of sectoral approach has been added to the display profile of the exhibition and emphasis is laid on sector-specific products and technologies such as low-cost building material, auto components, information technology, light engineering and machines tools, textiles and coir, he said.

Mr. Kumar informed that a new initiative had been taken by the NSIC by providing special enclosure of “working techmart” where stand-alone technologies for entrepreneurs would be on display besides live cluster demonstration of units from North-Eastern States.
