No decisions until trust vote: Yeddyurappa

BANGALORE: Soon after the Janata Dal (Secular) expressed its displeasure on Tuesday that the Cabinet had taken decisions without consulting the party, Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said no decisions would be taken till after the Government faced the trust vote on November 19.

Speaking to presspersons after the Children’s Day celebrations at the Bal Bhavan here and also after paying tributes to the country’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, on his 118th birth anniversary at the Vidhana Soudha, Mr. Yeddyurappa said that meanwhile he would spend his time visiting temples and offering prayers.

“I do not want to put our friends in the coalition in an awkward situation. So, all decisions will be put on hold for now.”

The Chief Minister also said that he had postponed his trip to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

“I was supposed to leave for Delhi on Wednesday to request for the immediate release of funds for flood relief. But I have postponed it too,” he said.

On the decisions taken by the Cabinet on Tuesday, Mr. Yeddyurappa said that they were part of the schemes announced in this year’s budget. He said that the decision to distribute ration cards was taken “because each day’s delay would be an injustice to the 12 lakh families living below the below the poverty line.”
