CHENNAI: Jamna Auto, a part of the Jai group and a world leader in producing commercial vehicle springs, has announced the acquisition of the leaf-spring plant of Tata Motors at Jamshedpur. Randeep Jauhar, CEO, told presspersons here on Tuesday that the company was also setting up an additional manufacturing facility for leaf and parabolic springs for supplying to Tata Motors’ world truck project and for export purposes. Jamna Auto has a share of 60 per cent in the domestic market. It supplies to all major manufacturers of commercial vehicles in India. The company has been regularly supplying springs and has enjoyed long-standing relations with Tata Motors. Jamna Auto is also in the process of merging Jai Parabolic Springs, another group company in Chennai and MAP Springs, a marketing outfit for springs and auto products, according to Pradeep Jauhar, COO, Jamna Auto. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
