Task Force Inspector held on corruption charge

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Wednesday arrested the Hyderabad Police Commissioner’s Task Force Inspector (Central Zone) K. Ramachandran on charge of amassing wealth illegally.

A Bureau press release stated here that searches at the police officer’s house in Bowenpally and houses of his friends and relatives revealed that he had acquired properties worth around Rs. 1.65 crore that were believed to be disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Assets

The assets included a house at Bowenpally, an apartment at Yousufguda, a three-storeyed building at Tarnaka, a plot at Kapra and two more plots at Kushaiguda.

Gold jewellery weighing 1.5 kilos, silver articles and ornaments weighing two kilos, two motorcycles and fixed deposits were among the other properties.

A Sub-Inspector of 1985 batch, K. Ramchandran worked as Inspector of Bowenpally, Charminar and Market police stations in the city earlier before being posted to the Task Force.
