Bangalore: This one is no ordinary inter-school competition. Here, the test of cerebral muscles comes with a sense of social responsibility.

The “Horlicks Wizkids 2007” had earlier tied up with Greenpeace to support their “Ban the Bulb” campaign, and the four finalists of the competition will visit Brazil to present the “Charter of Human Responsibility.”

The heat will be on in the city on November 21 to anoint the “Horlicks Wiz Team 2007” at the grand finale of this long fiesta. The final rounds will begin on November 17. No less than 2,50,000 students from 1,650 schools across 27 cities participated in Horlicks Wiz Kids 2007, and so choosing the finalists was no mean feat. But “the talent of the city finalists was evident in the variety of topics they chose,” say the organisers.

Two participants who particularly impressed the judges from Bangalore were Tejaswini Rajkumar from Carmel High School, Basaveshwaranagar who will present a project on “Energy Crisis in India” and Vignesh Prasad from Sishu Griha Montessori and High School who will make a presentation on “Harmony and Peace.” The duo will fight it out in the national finals for a place in the Horlicks Wiz Team 2007.

At the national finals, the winners will undergo every form of rigorous training and tests “to judge their character and competence.”

The grand finale will take place on November 21, at Ambedkar Bhavan here.
