Vijaya Bank, HASC post wins

BANGALORE: Vijaya Bank and HASC posted contrasting wins in the Association Cup basketball championship at Sree Kanteerava Stadium courts here on Friday. Vijaya Bank outplayed BSNL 63-34 while HASC struggled to prevail over BEML, Mysore 59-55. In the lone women’s tie of the day, Beagles beat Raj Mahal BC 46-27.

Exciting victory

Sapthagiri College of Engineering snatched an exciting two-run victory over Shiridi College of Engineering in the inter-engineering colleges T20 cricket tournament. Sapthagiri College made 142 for six wickets in 20 overs and later restricted its rival to 140 for nine wickets in 20 overs.

Raj Kumar tames Savur

D. Rajkumar accounted for veteran Arvind Savur 920-796 as the senior billiards second leg super league of the 38th State ranking championship reached its final stages at the KSBA hall here on Friday. In another match Bhaskar had five century breaks (114, 176, 161, 106, 150) in his 1166-545 rout of Duncan Mackenzie.
