Mysore: University of Madras dethroned defending champion Osmania University 3-0 and clinched the South Zone inter-University tennis championship title here on Friday. Bangalore University registered a 3-1 win over Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum to finish third. VTU took the fourth place. All the four teams, will take part in the all-India inter-University tennis championships to be held at MP Agricultural University, Jaipur, Rajasthan from December 27 to 29. The results: Final: University of Madras bt Osmania, 3-0 (N. Vijay Sundar Prasanth bt A.S. Suresh Krishna 7-5, 6-0; Md. Fariz bt K.H. Praveen 3-6, 6-4, 6-2; N. Vijay Sundar Prasanth/ Tariq jacob bt K.H. Praveen/A.S. Suresh Krishna 6-2, 6-3). Third place: Bangalore bt Visvesvaraya Technological University 3-1 (Jagadeesan Kumar lost to S. Prateek 6-4, 3-6, 4-6; Kaushik S Raju bt Shishir S Patil 3-6, 6-3, 6-2; Kaushik S Raju/ Jagadeesan Kumar bt S. Prateek/R.K. Praveen 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (5); Kaushik S Raju bt S.
