Paswan keen on allying with Congress in Gujarat

PATNA: Union Steel Minister and LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan on Saturday expressed concern over the threat to the life of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi from terrorists as revealed by those arrested in Uttar Pradesh.

Mr. Paswan said that the statements spelt danger as several other VIPs were on their hit list and demanded that the government take the matter seriously and initiate action accordingly.

Talking to reporters after inducting former Union Minister Sanjay Paswan into his party, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan said that his party was keen on contesting the assembly elections in Gujarat in alliance with the Congress to strengthen secular forces and remove Narendra Modi. He would await the outcome of the dialogue between the two parties on Sunday. The two parties have held three rounds of talks after his offer for an alliance to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
