PNB XI scores win

NEW DELHI: Punjab National Bank XI defeated Haryana XI 4-1 in the Nehru hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium here on Saturday.

After Sumit put Haryana ahead, Jatinder Saroha (2) Banmali and Yudhveer scored for PNB.

Assam’s North East XI overcame Indian Hockey Federation (U-16) team 4-2 with Romen Kumar Singh scoring three goals. N. Abung Singh was the other scorer for the winner. IHF scored through Manpreet Singh and Sidharth Shankar.

Earlier, Western Railways blanked SAI XI 3-0 with Jasdev, Amarjeet Singh and Gurusevak Singh scoring in that order. — Special Correspondent.
