Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Lions District 324 E 4 will organise an international shopping festival from December 8 to 22 at Gokulam Convention Centre in Kochi.

This would be a unique shopping festival in which about 15 countries and many Indian companies exhibit their latest products and services, said a release issued here, quoting Lions district governor K. Ramachandran Nair. The products would include foreign jewellery, electrical and electronic goods, household appliances, office equipment, building materials, and food products.

Air conditioned stalls covering about 25000 square feet would be set up at the convention centre. Special counters would be set up by foreign companies seeking distributors in Kerala.

The Lions District 324 E 4, spread over Ernakulam, Idukki and Alappuzha revenue districts, was organising the festival to mobilise funds for carrying out its various service projects. The most important among them was eye-screening for 5 lakh school children and make these districts cataract free. The other projects include rehabilitation of widows and the disabled, undertaking developmental activities in primary health centres and government hospitals and promoting waste disposal.
