Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Cherian Philip has urged the State government to make all major tourist destinations in the State beggar-free zones. In a statement issued here on Monday, the KTDC chairman said the pestering caused by beggars in the tourist destinations is spoiling the reputation of the destination and causing inconvenience to the guests. The existing tourism machinery is unable to take steps to check their activities, he said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
