MUMBAI: Winning titles has become a habit for Arvinder Chatwal and S. Parekh, for whom tennis is a way to keep physically and mentally alert. Chatwal, from Delhi, displayed a strong serve and powerful groundstrokes in the GVK AISTA senior National-ranking tennis tournament 55-plus singles final, to defeat A.R. Rao (Andhra Pradesh) 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-2 at the Practennis courts on Friday. He had earlier won the doubles in the same category. Parekh, from Maharashtra, made a mark in the oldest age group (65+) by blanking H.D. Ballal in the final. The singles champions earned Rs. 17,000 apart from a trophy. The winning pairs were awarded Rs. 4,500 each plus a trophy. The results (finals): 55+ singles: Arvinder Chatwal (Del) bt A.R. Rao (AP) 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-2; 65+ singles: S. Parekh (Mah) bt H.D.
