CHENNAI: Geet Sethi is the lone Indian left in the World snooker championship being held in Korat, Thailand. Competing in the Masters category, Sethi, a former World billiards champion, moved into the semifinals on Friday with a 68-51, 58-31, 72-15, 9-87, 34-79, 84-0 win over Thailand’s Chuchart Trairattanapradit. Sethi will next play Darren Morgan of Wales on Saturday. Sethi had on Thursday ousted Australia’s Glen Wilkinson 86-5, 5-62, 18-61, 24-55, 61-59, 99-6, 109-0 with another outstanding touch in the round of 16. Yasin Merchant’s good run in the men’s section was brought to an end in the pre-quarterfinals by Anthony Davies of Wales.
