MEMORABLE DAY: Ronit Bisht and Ankita Raina who won a double each. BANGALORE: It was double delight for the consistent Ronit Bisht of Delhi and Ankita Raina of Gujarat who won both the under-14 and under-16 singles titles in the boys’ and girls’ sections respective in the fourth leg of Good Earth Super Series junior tennis championship which concluded at the KSLTA courts here on Friday. Ronit defeated a lacklustre top seed J. Mohit Mayur of Tamil Nadu 6-1, 6-2 in the under-14 singles final. Mayur, who normally plays a steady baseline game, made too many unforced errors as he tried desperately to find his rhythm. Later in the afternoon, Ronit humbled Digvijay Singh of Delhi 6-0, 6-2 in the under-16 final. Ronit’s task was made easier as Digvijay, who had shoulder cramps, simply went through the motions. In fact, Digvijay began serving under arm after the third game of the second set. It could have been a close match but for Digvijay’s injury. Ankita a compact player won both her finals with ease here. Ankita outplayed the second seed Sharon Paul, who was nursing an injury, 6-1, 6-2 in the under-16 final and made short work of the fourth-seeded B. Sowjanya of Andhra Pradesh 6-1, 6-3 in the under-14 event. Ankita trains under Hemant Bendre at Pune. C.S. Sunder Raju, secretary, KSLTA, gave away the prizes, while Sandip Dang, CEO, Good Earth Foods Ltd., presided. The results (all finals): Boys: Under-14: Ronit Bisht (Del) bt J.
