Big win for TN

Dindigul: Last year’s runner-up, Tamil Nadu posted an emphatic 7-0 victory over Uttar Pradesh for its second win in the three-team cluster ‘B’ league and entered the quarterfinals of the sixth girl’s junior National football championship at SDAT stadium in Dindigul on Friday.

Rani Prasanna (16th minute, 36th), Radhika (30th), Dominic Kala Mary (57th), Mahalakshmi (59th), Vidyavathy (71st) and Kalpana (72nd) were the scorers.

Assam beat Punjab 2-0 in cluster ‘E’ league match. Lacsikishman (31st) and Dayabatti Singha (42nd) scored. — Sports Correspondent
