Four-nation women’s tournament

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the next year’s Olympic qualifiers, Indian women’s hockey team will get to test its strength in a four-nation tournament involving Italy, Malaysia and Azerbaijan, here from December 1 to 5.

The Lal Bahadur Shastri Hockey Tournament Committee, which organises an annual event for the men’s domestic teams, this year, has decided to provide a platform for women to perform.

The men’s tournament will have eight teams, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, Army XI, Indian Airlines, Punjab National Bank, Air India, Namdhari XI and South Central Railway.

The event will run from November 27 to December 3, at the Shivaji Stadium. — Principal Correspondent
