Elevation, Cavalry in final

NEW DELHI: Navjit Sandhu and Santiago de Estrada fired seven goals between them as Cavalry team defeated Kingfisher First eight-and-a-half goals to six and stormed into the final of the Havana Cavalry Gold Cup 10-goal polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here on Saturday.

Sandhu struck three goals while Argentine rider Estrada slotted in four and Tunku Ismail Ibrahim scored one after Cavalry started with a half-goal on handicap. For Kingfisher, Angad Kalaan scored four and Samir Suhaag had a brace.

In the first match of the day, Elevation drew with Sahgal-Jindal 6-6, but moved into the final on better goal average.

Ignacio Llotente (2), Ubajara Andrade (3) and Tarun Bilwal were the scorers for Elevation. For Sahgal-Jindal, Dhruvpal Godara (2), Ravi Rathore (2), Simran Shergill and Gaurav Sahgal scored.
