Ahmedabad: Even as the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti announced support to the BJP in the Gujarat Assembly elections, the State president of her Bharatiya Janshakti Party Chaitnya Shambhu Maharaj denied any knowledge of her decision. There was no question of the candidates of her party withdrawing from the contest, Mr. Maharaj said here on Saturday. Meanwhile, more BJP members of the outgoing Assembly, who have been denied renomination, are seeking her party’s support to contest. Two more MLAs dropped in the second list announced by the BJP late on Friday night, Prahlad Gosa (Visnagar) and Ishwar Makwana (Jotana), announced their decision to contest either on Ms. Bharati’s party ticket or as independents.
