The Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Jalakandapuram near Salem conducted a science exhibition. School Headmaster R. Mohankumar inaugurated the exhibition. Students displayed 110 working models and charts in the exhibition. About 2,400 students visited the exhibition. A team of teachers led by G. Sukumar guided the students. NCC DayThe Holy Cross Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Salem, celebrated NCC day. Participating in the celebrations, NCC Commander Ashraf reviewed a guard of honour. Cadets also visited old age homes, distributed clothes and food items to the inmates. School Vice-Principal Gnanasekaran and Brother Sabu participated. Coins on displayA coin exhibition was organised at the Government Higher Secondary School in Dhavani recently. Ancient and new coins from various parts of the world were displayed by the teachers and students of classes XI and XII. The exhibition was inaugurated by headmaster R.Sivaraman. Science CongressThe Namakkal District Young Scientists of Tamilnadu Science Forum conducted the district-level National Children Science Congress at Tiruchengode recently. Forty-nine science groups from 17 schools participated. The young scientists of Valliappa Vidhyalayam Matric HSS, Chinnarpalayam, Pallipalayam exhibited a project on production of earthworm manure. The selectors selected the exhibit and it would be placed in the State-level science meet and exhibition to be conducted at Chennai on December 1 and 2. The Secretary of the school Mohanraj, the Joint Secretary Pramila Mohanraj and the Principal Chitra Ramalingam congratulated the students for their selection for participation in the State-level exhibition. Saplings plantedThe NCC Day was observed recently in the A.E.T. Matric HSS, Pavalathampalayam, Erode. Tree saplings were planted in the school premises.
