Three criminals escape from custody

NIZAMABAD: Three notorious criminals Sankar Chouhan, Ramesh Bhonsle and Ravikumar belonging to Parthi gang gave the slip to the police when they were being brought back to the district prison here after producing them in a court at Banswada, on Monday evening.

According to District Prison Superintendent M.R. Bhaskar, the trio who were involved in 35 offences in the district were arrested six months ago. Since then, they have been lodged in the district prison.

They escaped from the police custody by jumping from the jeep in which they were being brought after arriving almost at the prison at around 6.15 p.m.

They escaped as soon as handcuffs were removed, he explained.

The police launched a massive search for them.
