Congress fields Dinsha Patel against Modi

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Tuesday decided to field Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dinsha J. Patel against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the Patel-dominated Maninagar Assembly Constituency in Ahmedabad.

Mr. Patel, 70, represents the Kaira constituency in the Lok Sabha. This is his fourth term in Parliament. Mr. Patel was the Minister for Public Works Department and Parliamentary Affairs in Gujarat from 1990 to 1995.
