TIME FOR MUSIC: Pandit Jasraj flanked by his daughter Durga, music director Jatin Pandit and musician Pandit Dinesh in the city on Wednesday. HYDERABAD: The 35th Pandit Motiram Pandit Maniram Sangeet Samaroh will be held at Nizam College here from November 29 to December 2. A host of talent representing different genres of music and some eminent artists will be part of the music festival this year. The annual event has Hariharan (Ghazals) and Rakesh Chaurasia (Flute) on first day while Jayanthi Kumaresh (Veena, Carnatic Classical) and Pandit Jasraj perform on Friday. Shashank (Carnatic Classical flute), Pritam Bhattacharya (Vocal Hindustani Classical) and Ustad Shahid Parvez (Sitar) will be presented on Saturday with Dhananjay Daitankar (Santoor), Pandit Ajay Pohankar (Vocal), Manjiri Chaturvedi (Sufi Kathak), Pandit Vijay Ghate (Tabla) and Sanjeev Abhayankar (Vocal Hindustani Classical) listed for Sunday. Governor Narayan Dutt Tiwari will be the chief guest for the samaroh on December 1, Pandit Jasraj told reporters at a press conference here on Wednesday. The music festival is organised in memory of Pandit Jasraj’s father, Pandit Motiram and his elder brother Pandit Maniram. ‘Main Hyderabadi hoon’Pandit Jasraj appreciated the State Government support for the event and recalled his association with the city. “Gandipet ka pani piya, isliye mein Hyderabadi hoon,” he said.
