Coimbatore: Coimbatore Consumer Cause (CCC) has appealed to the Vigilance Commissioner and Commissioner for Administrative Reforms, Government of Tamil Nadu to take steps for early refund of the trap money in graft cases to the complainants at least in respect of long pending cases. CCC Secretary, K. Kathirmathiyon, said that in the event of corruption, the Government exhorted the public to prefer complaints with the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department. After preferring complaints, the public used to hand over the graft money and the DVAC sleuths used to lay a trap and catch the officials red-handed. Till the completion of the case, the complainants had to wait for the refund of the trap money which used to be deposited with the courts as evidence. The CCC filed a writ petition before the Madras High Court and while disposing off the same the court directed the Government to look into the representations. Thanking the Government, Mr.Kathirmathiyon expressed lack of satisfaction in the reply from the Government. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
