synchronised moves: Students perform a colourful drill at the Annual Day of HPS, Ramanthapur on Wednesday. HYDERABAD: Spectacular sport events and drill displays by students of both primary and senior sections marked the 31st Annual Sports Day of the Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, on Wednesday. A colourful event, ‘Chakde India’, by senior girls in which tennis and hockey were predominant, drew the loudest cheers of the audience. R. Damodar Reddy, Information Technology and Youth Services Minister, who was the chief guest, lauded the school for encouraging its students to take active part in sport and other extracurricular activities resulting in their all-round development. Mr. Reddy stated that the Government was contemplating launching rural public schools in each Assembly constituency by setting up HPS-like institutions for providing quality education in far-flung areas. Capt. (retd) Alokesh Sen, principal, presented a report.
