Jeev in tied second spot

Tokyo: Defending champion Jeev Milkha Singh jumped to the tied second spot with a solid second round of two-under 68 even as Shingo Katayama stretched his lead to five shots in the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup here on Friday.

Katayama produced his second successive round of four-under 66 to finish with a two-day total of eight-under 132, five shots ahead of the trio of Prayad Marksaeng (67), Hirofumi Miyase (68) and Jeev at three-under 137.

Arjun slips

Arjun Singh could not maintain the momentum and settled for a second-round card of two-under 70 to slip to the sixth spot after the halfway stage of the inaugural Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open at Siem Reap on Friday.

In all, eight Indians made the cut while five could not hang around for weekend action.

Saltus leads

In-form American Bryan Saltus fired five-under 67 to grab a share of the second round lead at 11-under 133 alongside overnight leader Adam Groom of Australia, who carded 68 on Friday. — Agencies
