TV channels without permission to invite action

NEW DELHI: Several TV channels, including some foreign ones, could face trouble if they do not get the regular permission under the downlinking guidelines by the end of this month.

There are 53 Indian and foreign channels, which are only having temporary, ad hoc permission and some of them had not even applied for a regular permission, sources in the Government said.

These channels will have to apply for the downlinking permission and get the clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs and other government departments.
