13 of marriage party killed in accident

Jaipur: At least 13 members of a marriage party were killed on Saturday after their vehicle fell off a bridge into the Chambal river near the Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border. They were returning to Morena in Madhya Pradesh in a jeep after attending a marriage in Agra.

Dholpur Additional Superintendent of Police Alok Srivastav said on Sunday that the jeep hit a railing and fell into the river.

Police personnel from M.P. and Rajasthan along with a team of divers were conducting the rescue operation, he said.

Children among victims

The jeep was taken out of the waters and 13 bodies, including that of three children and four women, were recovered, Mr. Srivastav said. — PTI
