Johnson nets winner

HYDERABAD: Left-in Johnson netted the match-winner for Gowrishnakar XI in its 1-0 win over JJ Nagar in the Susai memorial football tournament on Sunday.

Johnson struck off a long-ranger in the 63rd minute of the second session.

Easy for Royal Club

HYDERABAD: Royal Club defeated Young Hyderabad Club 4-1 in the M.A. Quddus memorial invitation hockey tournament at the Gymkhana here.

Left-half Naga Babu, left-in Sai Kumar, right-out M. Rohit and right-in M. Srikanth scored for the winner, while centre-forward Musharraf reduced the margin.

In another match, Mohammadan Sporting recorded a 3-0 win over Income Tax Recreation Club with right-out M.A. Quddus, right-back Sohail Sk. Khaleel and left-in Hanan striking once each.
