KOLKATA: Shoaib Akhtar heaped praise on the batting ability of Misbah-ul-Haq and dubbed him the successor of Inzamam-ul-Haq. “Misbah has in him the talent to fill the void created by Inzamam’s retirement,” he told reporters. Akhtar also confirmed that the team management never put any pressure on him to play the second Test. “It was my decision. This Test is crucial. There was no pressure from the team management,” he said. The Pakistan bowling spearhead said that he was given drips and injections, which helped him regain some fitness. But he was not fully cured, and had a lot of discomfort on the opening day. He signed off in style saying that he may be acting in a Bollywood movie. The script would be made available to him during the Test in Bangalore. “I will go through it (the script) and then decide,” he said adding that he is a regular viewer of Indian movies. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
