Dinesh, Easwaramoorthy in last four

Erode: T. Dinesh and Easwaramoorthy qualified for the semifinals from Group ‘A’ in the fifth Erode district-ranking snooker tournament here on Monday.

Three-time champion S. Surendran and K.S. Umakanth booked last-four berths from Group ‘B.’

The former later paired with Andrews to blank the duo of T. Dinesh and R. Murugesh 3-0 for a place in the doubles final.

Gopal Naidu HSS wins

At Coimbatore, Gopal Naidu HSS, with a better goal aggregate, emerged the school champion of the Bishop Ambrose Trophy football tournament in Othakkalmandapam on Sunday.

Karpagam Polytechnic College tallied nine points to clinch the title among polytechnic colleges.

Final standings: Polytechnic-level: 1. Karpagam PC (9 points), 2. NPA Centenary PC (4), 3. VLB Janakiammal PC (4). School-level: 1. Gopal Naidu HSS (7), 2. Swami Sivananda HSS (7), Bishop Ubagarasamy HSS (3).

Hari scores century

An unbeaten 106 by K. Hari Prasad enabled Sri Ramakrishna Mills SC score a six-wicket win over ABT CC in the Canara Bank-CDCA first division cricket league for the Pricol Trophy here on Sunday.

Easy for Sterling Biotech

At Udhagamandalam, Sterling Biotech posted a 90-run win over Mechanics CC in the Canara Bank-NDCA ‘B’ division cricket league for the A.R. Raja Gowder Memorial Trophy at the Lawrence School grounds on Monday.

Colts Cricket Club scored an eight-wicket win over Cordite Factory Sports Club in the NDCA-HPF Staff Club Rolling Trophy cricket tournament on Sunday.

Mukesh, Pradnya win

Mukesh Maravi of Bhopal and Pradnya of Bangalore won the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the all-India BHEL inter-unit table tennis tournament at Tiruchi on Monday.
