Erode: T. Dinesh defeated K.S. Umakanth to enter the final of the fifth Erode district ranking snooker tournament at the S.S. Sports Academy here on Tuesday.

The results: Semifinals: T. Dinesh bt K.S. Umakanth 58-51, 42-35, 62-36, 22-34, 42-55, 62-36; Easwaramoorthy bt S. Surendran 25-61, 42-35, 62-52, 35-62, 61-51, 72-42.

Rising Stars Cricket Club coasted to a two-wicket win over Green City Cricket Club in the Canara Bank-NDCA ‘C’ division league for the Kairbetta Estates Syndicate Rolling Trophy at Udhagamandalam.

The scores: Green City CC 174 (V.M. Rajesh 47, C. Karthik Kumar 43, V.J. Jibin four for 31) lost to Rising Stars CC 175 for eight in 26.4 overs (A. Mustafa 63 not out).
