Thiruvananthapuram: A six-year-old girl was killed and her mother was seriously injured when a car knocked them down on the NH 47 at Poovampara near Attingal on Wednesday morning. According to the police, the accident took place when the mother and daughter, Ammu, a second standard student of LMS School, Attingal, were crossing the road around 10.30 a.m. The car was proceeding from Thiruvananthapuram to Kollam. They were rushed to the Medical College Hospital and SAT Hospital. Ammu was pronounced dead on arrival at the casualty wing of the SAT Hosptial. Ammu’s mother, Kumary Thamara, a resident of Munduthottathilveedu, Poovampara, had been admitted to the hospital. The police have registered a case. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
