NEW DELHI: A Central intelligence input about the presence of six suspected terrorists in the Capital on Tuesday turned out to be false after the Delhi police cross-checked the antecedents of the suspects. The police received the input from intelligence agencies stating that six suspected militants had entered the city in a car. The registration number of the vehicle was also provided. According to police sources, they tracked down the vehicle and cross-checked the antecedents of the suspects, but did not find anything suspicious about them. Nevertheless, the police are on alert in view of the recent intelligence tip-off warning of a possible terror strike in the Capital. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
